Poetry with Structure

In this unit we will be learning about poetry written using a patterned structure including the poems from famous modern poets of English literature.

The focus of our learning will be poems exploring the senses.  We will be learning about poetry analysis: how to unlock meaning and mood by discussion of content, language and tone.  In addition, we will be exploring the form and pattern used to develop a structured poem.

Our writing will include: the use of similes, poetry analysis, recount and poetry writing.

Children will be learning creatively using a range of techniques to access more language in order to develop their understanding of a wider range of texts from English Literature.
