The Sorting Hat
Create a sorting hat for words in your home reading book.
Create four categories.
Here are some examples of categories you could choose:
- words ending ing
- words with more than ten letters
- nouns
- verbs
- adjectives
- adverbs
- words that are proper nouns
- words that contain at least five vowels
These are just some examples, you could also have:
- scary words
- timid words
- loud words
- shy words
Or, for Harry Potter fans, words that belong in:
- Gryffindor
- Slytherin
- Hufflepuff
- Ravenclaw
Once you have your four houses, choose twelve words from your text - three for each house.
