Spelling

Summer Term

Each child was given a plastic wallet with the printed spelling sheets for this half term.

The spelling sheet is double sided and contains a lot of spellings however these spellings are all linked to our phonics learning through the week. Side 1 has the phonics sound spellings for the children to practise and Side 2 has the common exception words we have learned that week. We do phonics everyday so we will be learning these spellings in class everyday but it is really important that they are practised at home daily too.

Some spellings are repeated as the weeks go by; this is not a mistake. Repetition is key for learning and it will help to embed the knowledge and understanding of phonics and common exception words.

The common exception words are the same as the ones we learned last term, we practise them every term to embed them.
