Whitechapel Primary School is a popular, rural, school that prides itself on its strong, social caring ethos.  It is extremely well resourced and has a committed and friendly staff, happy children and supportive parents.
The school is located close to Inglewhite and has extensive grounds enabling us to provide the very best teaching and learning opportunities.  As a result, children travel from surrounding areas and further afield to attend our successful school.

The children, staff and governors are looking to appoint one full-time or two part-time teaching assistants to join our team and support two children with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis. Both children are based in EYFS/Key Stage 1.

This is an ideal opportunity for those interested in starting a career in education and wanting to make a difference in the lives of individual children.  Training will be provided throughout your time at school, and you will be closely supported by both the class teacher and SENCO. Our teaching assistants play a vital role in the educational, personal and social development of our children.   

It is important that the successful candidates are friendly, hard-working and adaptable. In addition, we are looking for people who can use their own initiative and are excited to join our small and dedicated team.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a kind, positive and reassuring adult for children at school
  • Be dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs to achieve their academic, physical, social and emotional goals
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Support learning in 1:1 and small group situations
  • Be committed to whole-school life and be willing to support extra-curricular activities and school events if required
  • Complete relevant training for the role and engage in continuous professional development

    These positions are fixed-term contracts that will be reviewed in July 2024.  They are term-time only and the salary quoted is full-time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.

    Working Hours: Monday- Friday: Mornings: 9:00am –12:30pm  Afternoons: 1:30pm- 3:30pm.

Essential Qualifications

English & Maths GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent)

 

Desirable Qualifications

TA qualification NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)

 First Aid Certificate

 

Essential Experience

Experience of working with or caring for primary aged children

 

Desirable Experience

Experience of working in a classroom environment

Experience of working with children with special educational needs
