Charles Darwin

In this unit we will be learning about biography.

The focus of our learning will be Charles Darwin. 

We will be learning about other famous people as we explore the features of biography. 

Our writing will include a biography Charles Darwin which we will write together followed by independent writing about Mary Anning.

Children will be learning to write varied sentences building on previous learning about fronted adverbials and developing sentence openers to include time adverbs, ed openers, and ing openers.  They will also build on learning about complex sentences to develop sentences opening with subordinate conjunctions.  In addition, children will develop understanding of the passive voice and how it can be applied to biographical writing.
