  • School Council Voting Day

    Thu 06 Oct 2022 Mrs N Noblett

Today, Thursday 6th October 2022, children across Years 2 to 6 have been voting for their class School Councillors.

All through the week prospective candidates have been sharing manifestos and ideas for change with their peers, trying to rally their support to vote for them today.

Proceedings were monitored effectively by Hollie (Chair of School Council 2021-2022) to ensure that the vote was legal and fair.  All children were asked to provide their full name, and Hollie issued them with ballot papers.  She also explained how to follow the regulations for voting in their class.

Rules were followed meticulously and there were no spoiled papers at the count.  Results will be announced next week.

  • Reception at Fulwood Barracks

Mon 03 Oct 2022 Mrs Noblett

On Saturday 1st October 2022, Ms Connell and I attended a reception at Fulwood Barracks.  We were one of only a handful of schools invited to the event following our involvement with the Remembrance event at St George the Martyr church in Preston last November.  We are hopeful that the visit has enabled us to strengthen links with the barracks and plan to take a group of the junior children to visit later this year.
