Writing - Unit Five - Reports

Reports

WWII

In this unit we will be learning about non-chronological repots - what features are essential to a successful report.

The focus of our learning will be evacuation. Text will include a variety of texts including traditional paper texts and web-based texts.

Closely linked to learning in history, we will be learning to research, takes notes and plan a successful report about a feature of WWII (evacuation).

Writing skills will include: the use of sub-headings, developing subject-specific vocabulary, and the use of clear, complex sentences to engage and inform the reader.

Children will be learning techniques needed to research and note take - for example, use of abbreviations to assist note taking.

Development of planning and organisational skills are key to the learning in this unit..

The unit outcome will be a report on an aspect of WWII.
