Science Fiction

Isaac Asimov and Douglas Hill. 

In this unit we will be learning about science fiction - including some iconic writers in the genre.

The focus of our learning will be science fiction short stories.  We will be learning about developing character: how to use the "show don't tell" technique.  In addition, we will be exploring story structure and how crafted sentence structure can enhance plot and tone.

Our writing will include: the use of adverbials and the development of "new" vocabulary to describe futuristic inventions.

Children will be learning creatively using written and digital media.
