KS2 SATs
Key Stage 2 Standard Assessment Tests
KS2 SATs for Year Six pupils are taking place later this year.
The KS2 SATs are more formal than the SATs taken in year 2 at the end of the KS1.
KS2 SATs consist of six papers taken over four days.
Children will take a test in:
- Grammar & Punctuation (Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling Paper 1)
- Spelling (Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling Paper 2)
- Reading
- Arithmetic (Mathematics Paper 1)
- Reasoning (Mathematics Paper 2)
- Reasoning (Mathematics Paper 3)

The SAT papers are administered in school. The papers are externally marked and results are not issued until July.
In addition to the SATs, a child’s attainment in writing is assessed by the class teacher. Writing assessment is moderated to ensure standards.
